Rebuild of Hannah's 1978 Hurley 24/70 sailboat
Cicindelle (translated water beetle in French), is a 1978 Hurley 24/70 bilge keel sloop. The image of a stylized beetle was a logo we created for the boat. This vessel was also marketed as a Hurley 25, Atlantic 25 and as an Atlantic Portsmouth 25 (see original brochure below). Our daughter, Hannah, has owned the boat since she was 18. It has been on the hard in our back yard for about 5 years now while Hannah travelled the world. See her latest adventure at http://thefreelife.weebly.com/
Hannah and David have returned from their two year cycling trip from Toronto to Guatamala and back. They will be outfitting Hannah's boat for their next adventure. We will be posting pictures on this page as we make her ready for travel. The work will include repair of the rudder bearings, tiller handle, wood restoration, new stern pulpit and hard bimini, installation and repair of the dodger and rub rail installation. Follow along as we bring this little beauty back to ship-shape.
